Covid Lockdown : online court begins in bankura district.The accused will also be able to take part in the case from the jail at the video conference.

#Bankura24x7 : As the first district court in the state Bankura has started online court or virtual court. According to the district judge Mr. Apurba Sinha Roy, follwing the direction of the highest court of the country & the Calcutta High Court this virtual court has been implemented. He says, "It's very essential to maintain social distancing in this Covid 19 crisis. Besides, we also have to ensure that those seeking justice must not face problems. Therefore, while maintaining social distancing we also have to keep the movements of the legal proceedings on."

This virtual court will mainly focus on the urgent cases such as bail applications or temporary injunctions. The District Bar Association has welcomed this initiative. According to them, as a consequence of this initiative the accused persons justice seekers will get relieved to a certain extent. In addition, they can also participate in the court proceedings sitting at their chambers instead of coming to the court rooms. The district judge also says that the accused persons can also participate in the court proceedings from the correctional homes through video conference.
